Nabeela Syed Biography
Nabeela Syed has become the youngest member of the Illinois General Assembly. The 23-year old Democrat, Indian-American, won the last US midterm elections by defeating Chris Bos, of the Republican Party. She received 52.3% of votes in the race for the 51st district of the Illinois State House of Representatives. Syed is a proponent of interfaith dialogue, and she works to empower young Muslim women at the Islamic Society of Northwest Suburbs to assume leadership roles in her religious community.
According to her website Nabeela collaborated with a variety of organizations, including EMILY’s List to raise money for Democrats in Congress. She was the founder of a non-profit consulting firm that helped local businesses.
