Shane Warne Career
Warne’s debut Test against India was in 1991-92. He took one wicket at 150 runs. However, after leading Australia to a surprising victory in Moratuwa against Sri Lanka, he proved his true ability in the Boxing Day Match against West Indies 1992-93.
The 1993 Ashes tour, however, was what cemented Shane Warne’s legend. Warne’s debut delivery of the series at Old Trafford shocked the sport with a drifting and dipping leg break to Gatting. It was the “ball of century” that curled at two feet to jump over the top. He became famous for his extraordinary delivery after he was shielded by England’s batters in the one-day series.
